Sermon: Marks of a Healthy Christian
Bible Passage: 1 Thessalonians 1:2-10
As Paul wrote to the Thessalonian Christians to assure them, strengthen their hope, and address their deficiencies, the message for us as God’s people today is that we are chosen by God for a big purpose. It is nothing less than to experience the fullness of salvation by living lives marked by faith, love, and hope.
The marks of a life that has been transformed by God for His purposes has the following characteristics:
1. Chosen by God and indwelt by the Holy Spirit (v 4-5)
2. Faith that works (v3)
3. Love that Labors (v3)
4. Hope that endures (v3)
5. Imitates godly examples (v6)
6. Becomes an example (v7)
7. Turns from idols/habitual sins (v9)
8. Serves the living and true God (v9)
9. Waits for Jesus (v10)
