In June 2020, “Grow Mercy Initiative” was started to help families that had lost their jobs due to the pandemic. The goal was to feed nutritious meals to the families affected by job loss and low-income groups, to feed about 150 kids every day. Two centres were opened. Both the centres are running well with Co-ordinators, staff and wardens. Each centre has about 50 kids coming daily from Monday through Saturday, who take home hot, nutritious meals. Many of our church members volunteer through time and resources to serve in these centres.
Crossroad Hindi Church was founded in January 2017 with a vision to reach out the Hindi speaking community in Bangalore. Ashish Chougule is pastoring this church. Ashish and his wife Naina comes from north India. Since the inception of this church, it has been growing steadily and has great potential to reach out the Hindi speaking migrant community in the city. Aashish and Naina have two children, Cyrus and Ezekiel.
Jackson David Walter has worked in the corporate sector for over 14 years with MNC’s like Dell, HP and ITC Infotech. After God put a burden on his heart for the state of Karnataka, he has been involved in church planting ministry. Jackson and his wife, Aruna Walter have been undergoing church planting internship since January 2020, and will complete their internship in March 2021. Pastor Jackson is a native Kannada speaker. Our church will commission them in December 2020 to start a Kannada church in North Bengaluru. Currently, they are developing their core-group. Jackson and Aruna have two children: Abigail and Joshua.
Anil Samuel is undergoing a yearlong internship with Crossroad Church. He is under online training from Bengaluru, while under practical training with Pastor Navin from Delhi. Upon the completion of his internship, Anil will plant a church among the migrant workers in North-West Delhi. Crossroad church will commission him in March 2021.
